Web resources 

  • The “Human Resources & Safety” area of CBIA’s Web site has information on veterans’ rights and military leave, as well as other leave issues.

  • The U.S. Department of Labor’s Web site offers information about compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and has links to sites where employers can find assistance. 

  • The Connecticut Department of Labor site has information on the state FMLA. Choose “Workplace Laws & Info” under “Information for Business.”

  • The Web site of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve offers tips for employers, answers frequently asked questions, and explains the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

  • The Small Business Administration’s site gives information about financial-relief programs for reservists who own businesses or for employers of reservists, including loan payment deferral, interest rate adjustments and economic-injury disaster loans.
