1.What are the largest companies in Connecticut?

The Hartford Courant compiles a list called "The Courant 100." This version of The Courant 100 was published in The Hartford Courant on June 4, 2001. The package lists the largest companies in Connecticut and is produced each year by The Hartford Courant business news department. 

2.Where can I find information about the number of people employed, unemployed or in the civilian labor force in the state? 

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS): State at a Glance provides historical information on labor, unemployed and unemployed data.

4. Where can I find information on NAICS and SIC codes?

The North American Industry Classification Series (NAICS) and Standard Industrial Code (SIC) are used to categorize industries. From 1987, SIC codes were used to classify industries and employment and manufactured products. In 1993, a shift to use NAICS codes was implemented. However, some industries still use SIC codes. The Bureau of Census site offers access to both codes and translates SIC to NAICS code.

5. Where can employers obtain information for business assistance loans for businesses impacted by September 11?   

Businesses should contact the Small Business Administration (SBA) to receive the application for "Economic Injury Disaster Loans for Small Businesses" by calling 1-800-659-2955, press 0 to reach a customer service representative.

6. Where can I obtain a complete listing of CT companies? 

To obtain a complete listing of Connecticut companies, you should contact the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC).

7. What is the federal minimum wage? 

As of January 1, 2004 the federal minimum wage is $5.15 per hour. 

8. What is the minimum wage for the state of Connecticut?

As of January 1, 2004, the Connecticut minimum wage is $7.10 per hour.

9.Where can I obtain a complete listing of manufacturing companies in CT?

10.Where can I obtain information on business grants and loans? 

Depending on your needs and whether or not your company meets eligibility requirements, the state of Connecticut offers a variety of information on grant and loan assistance programs through agencies like the Department of Economic and Community Development, Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Connecticut Development Authority and Connecticut Innovations.For federal funding, businesses should contact the Small Business Administration

You can obtain information on key rates, treasury securities, major bank savings rates & CDs, Eurodollar time deposits, conforming and wholesale mortgage rates and adjustable-rate mortgage indexes at Bank Quote.
