How to contact state legislators about your concerns

Find out the status of bills you’re concerned about by logging on to the “Government Issues & Politics” area at cbia.com/gov. The site’s “Desktop Legislature” search feature lets you look up a bill by subject area, description, title or bill number. You can also use the site to look up information about your town’s legislators, including phone numbers, mail addresses, e-mail addresses and other information. In fact, you can e-mail any number of legislators simultaneously, directly from the site.

When contacting a state legislator ...

  • Identify yourself, your company and where your company is located.
  • Mention the issue you’re concerned about and, if appropriate, the name and number of a specific bill. Explain how the issue or bill will affect your company and the jobs you provide.

If you have questions, call CBIA’s Public Affairs Department at 860-244-1900.
