Facts about Connecticut’s
foreign-born population

 

  • Connecticut ranks 13th among the 50 states and the District of Columbia for the percent of the total population who are foreign born, 12%. (Source: 2004 American Community Survey, U.S. Census Bureau)

  • Connecticut’s foreign born hail from Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zea-land (38%); Asia (22%); Latin America (22%); the Caribbean (14%); and Africa (5%).
