Business ethics resources
The following organizations provide information and assistance on business
ethics issues:
- AGORA,
The Forum for Workplace Ethics and Economic Justice, Hartford,
Conn., 860-756-4034, ext. 118. Holds meetings with speakers, discussions
or case studies; also provides a support group and other resources.
- Business
Roundtable Institute for Corporate Ethics, Charlottesville,
Va., 434-982-2177. An independent entity established in partnership
with Business Roundtable (an association of CEOs from leading companies)
that is housed at The Darden Graduate School of Business Administration
at the University of Virginia. Aiming to strengthen the link between
ethical behavior and business practice, it conducts research, offers
seminars and provides publications.
- Center
for Business Ethics, Bentley College, Waltham, Mass., 781-891-2000.
A nonprofit educational and consulting organization whose offerings
include events, publications and research survey reports.
- Ethics &
Compliance Officer Association, Waltham, Mass., 781-647-9333.
A nonprofit, professional association for corporate ethics and compliance
practitioners.
- Ethics Resource
Center, Washington, D.C., 202-737-2258. The oldest nonprofit
in the United States dedicated to the advancement of organizational
ethics. Founded in 1922, it provides ethics training, program evaluation,
research, publications and more.
- Institute
for Global Ethics, Camden, Maine, 207-236-6658. A nonpartisan,
nonsectarian, nonprofit organization promoting ethical action in a global
context. Its business services include providing help with assessing
a company’s ethical climate, creating and providing training on
a company ethics code, and program evaluation.
- International
Business Ethics Institute, Washington, D.C., 202-296-6938.
A nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization providing online and
print publications, seminars, roundtable discussions, and help with
developing a corporate ethics program.
