Energy

  • For a listing of the state’s energy incentive programs and other energy-related topics, visit www.ct-energyinfo.com.

  • The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund has incentive programs and funding opportunities of interest to businesses.
  • The Green Power Partnership, a program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), helps businesses and other organizations find information on buying green power as a way to reduce the environmental impacts associated with conventional electricity use.

  • The EPA’s Energy Star site helps businesses and consumers find ways to cut their energy costs with energy efficiency strategies, products and services.

  • The nonprofit U.S. Green Building Council developed the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, which has become a nationally recognized benchmark for high-performance green buildings.

  • The Connecticut Department of Transportation works with the following organizations to provide free commuter services to employers and employees:
    Rideworks, based in New Haven, serves a 39-town area in south-central Connecticut
    The Rideshare Co., provides commuter services in Greater Hartford and eastern Connecticut, and also operates the statewide Easy Street commuter van service
    MetroPool, operates in Fairfield County and several New York state counties, including Westchester
