Preparation for Educators Before Visiting a Company

Before you go on your company visit, it would be a good idea to meet as a team to discuss your objectives. The following are some helpful reminders:

  • Prior to your visit, you might want to visit the company’s Web site to familiarize yourself with the company’s history, products and services.
  • Know what you want to gain from the experience.
  • Be as specific as you can about what your goals are.
  • Think about what you could learn from this visit and how that can translate into helping your students focus on careers.
  • Take the opportunity to view the Career Explorations Video Series. Your school career center should have the series of videos and accompanying support materials so you can have a better understanding of available careers in the field.
