Preparation
for Educators Before Visiting a Company
Before you go on your company visit, it would be a good idea to
meet as a team to discuss your objectives. The following are some
helpful reminders:
- Prior to your visit, you might want to visit the company’s
Web site to familiarize yourself with the company’s history,
products and services.
- Know what you want to gain from the experience.
- Be as specific
as you can about what your goals are.
- Think about what you could
learn from this visit and how that can translate into helping
your students focus on careers.
- Take the opportunity to view the
Career
Explorations Video Series. Your school career center
should have the series of videos
and
accompanying
support materials so you can have a better understanding
of available careers in the field.
- Review the “Revised
Industry Skills Standards book”
