School Improvement Preparing Students for Careers Education in the Workplace Employer Involvement

Employer Involvement in Education

Workforce development is an area of concern to CBIA member companies. CBIA believes that educators and business people play a pivotal role in strengthening Connecticut’s economy. By exposing educators and their students to business environments – whether it be through teacher externships, student internships, company visits, visiting lecturers, or collaborative work-based projects in the classroom– educators are given the opportunity to infuse some excitement into their classes and students can see how their choices in school can affect their futures.

Students are the key to the workforce of tomorrow. By introducing those students to the wide array of careers that are out there for them, educators and business people alike can mold their future.

The CBIA Education Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) affiliate of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA). Our mission is to help prepare a skilled workforce for Connecticut employers through the development of public-private sector partnerships in education and job training. Over the last 20 years, the preparation of a skilled workforce has consistently been one of CBIA ’s top five priorities.
