Volunteer to Help Connecticut's Schools

CBIA has been working with the business community for decades to help improve Connecticut's' schools. As business professionals, you can offer so much to the educational community such as your experience and knowledge you've gained throughout your career. CBIA administers several programs designed to improve students' academic achievement and prepare them to succeed in higher education and the world of work. Right now we are looking for volunteers to help in the following areas:

If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please click on the links above to send an e-mail to the project manager. If you'd like to speak to someone immediately, please contact CBIA's Dayl Walker or Mary deManbey at 860-244-1900.

Besides those areas listed above, schools are always interested in receiving help from the business community. This assistance can take make shapes and forms depending on what you want to do. For example:

  • Work w/ teachers (volunteer in the classroom, have company host externships for teachers)
  • Mentor students
  • Donate equipment (computers, desks, cameras, office equipment, manufacturing equipment)
  • Tutor students in reading, math, science
  • Coach students on employability skills
  • Be a guest speaker
  • Host a student internship, job shadowing experience or field trip

Still not sure what you and your employees can do? Fill out our Volunteer Form and someone from our Education Foundation will contact you to discuss your options.
