The Hartford

The Hartford will strengthen its leadership role as the preeminent corporate partner with the City of Hartford Public Schools. Focusing on the three Asylum Hill neighborhood schools - West Middle Elementary, Quirk Middle and Hartford Public High. The Hartford will provide financial and human resources that, in conjunction with District-wide initiatives, will create centers of educational excellence enabling students to achieve their highest potential. United Technologies

The UTC-sponsored Connecticut Audubon Rolling Nature Center takes the field trip to school, providing Connecticut school children with on-site, high quality environmental learning experiences tied to all areas of the school curriculum. Children use geography, botany, ecology, and zoology to learn math, science, social studies, and language skills. Serving as a classroom on wheels, the ECO-BUS travels the state to promote investigation and knowledge of nature and to promote citizen stewardship of the environment. Programs slated for adults and children focus on whatever habitat the vehicle is parked in, whether an urban lot, city park, a farm field or a wildlife preserve. Click here for more information.

People's Bank

Operation Respect CT, Inc. was founded in 2001 as an organization with a mission to educate, train and assist schools and community-based youth service organizations in creating safe and respectful environments for youth and the adults who work with them. Click here for more information.

Becton, Dickinson and Company

BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) is a medical technology company that serves healthcare institutions, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, industry and the general public. BD manufactures and sells a broad range of medical supplies, devices, laboratory equipment and diagnostic products. This year members of the Canaan, CT facility participated in a teacher externship program hosted by CBIA's Education Foundation. Click here for details.
