On April 15, 2004, Alyssa Davis, a claims representative at The Hartford, spoke to a group of 15 students from Hartford Public High School who visited The Hartford in Farmington, CT. The students were able to job shadow an employee for an hour, have a tour of the facility, have lunch in a conference room and listen to presentations from a panel of young employees who work in different departments at The Hartford.

On Tues., March 30, 2004, students from Hartford Public High School’s Technology Academy toured CBIA-member company Reflexite Technology Center in Avon, CT.

The students are taking part in the Professional Advisors Program, a program developed by CBIA’s Education Foundation, and funded by a grant from the Hampshire Foundation. The goal of the program is to help students prepare for continuing education beyond high school and for high wage jobs through job shadowing, site visits to companies and mentoring by business volunteers.

Transportation was provided by Dattco Bus Company, also a CBIA-member company.
