  • Environmental Field Technicians conduct research to develop methods of abating, controlling, or remediating sources of environmental pollutants, utilizing knowledge of various scientific disciplines. Identify and analyze sources of pollution to determine their effects. Collect and synthesize data derived from pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring, meteorological and mineralogical information, or soil and water samples.
  • Instrument Technicians perform laboratory and field tests to monitor environmental resources and determine sources of pollution, under direction of environmental scientists. They also collect samples of gases, soil, water and other materials for testing and may recommend remediation treatment to resolve pollution problems.
  • Regulatory Compliance Technicians inspect and investigate sources of pollution to protect the public and environment and ensure conformance with Federal, State, and local regulations and ordinances.
  • Agriculture and Horticulture Technicians lay out and complete detailed drawings of agricultural machinery and equipment and test agricultural equipment and techniques.
