Health & Biosciences

  • Laboratory Technologists perform a wide range of complex procedures in the general area of the clinical laboratory or perform specialized procedures in such areas as cytology, histology, and microbiology. They also perform routine qualitative and quantitative analysis of specimens to provide information used in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • A Chemical Technician assists research professionals with experiments, sets up standard laboratory equipment, performs routine tests, maintains records of the results, prepares solutions and other mediums, orders and maintains supplies.
  • A Support Specialist fabricates, operates, maintains and/or repairs equipment in either the medical or biotechnical fields.
  • A Laboratory Animal Technician assists with the care, feeding and general husbandry of animals used in biomedical experiments. Observes animals and reports problems. Maintains supplies and records. Manager/Supervisors are generally found in smaller establishments where they perform both supervisory and management functions, such as accounting, marketing, and personnel work, and may also engage in the same animal care work as the workers they supervise.
