Biotechnology — A High-Growth Industry

Biotechnology is the newest and most fascinating area in biosciences. In a broad sense, biotechnology is the use of organisms, cells or molecules isolated from cells to make products or solve problems. Today, biotechnology is used by many industries working in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, chemical products, environmental remediation and energy. Companies involved in biotechnology range from small entrepreneurial start-ups to large multinational corporations employing thousands of people.
