New brownfield funding

(July 17, 2007) The new state budget includes additional dollars for staffing within the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), a portion of which is expected to be used to hire staff for the Office of Brownfield Remediation and Development, which is located within DECD. And it is anticipated that there will be approximately $15 million in funding for brownfield redevelopment in the bonding package expected to be voted on later this month.
