All state regulations could soon go online

(Feb. 29, 2008) Businesses in Connecticut could soon gain immediate, Web-based access to all state regulations under a bill proposed by the governor and being considered by the legislature’s General Law Committee.

Transparency between businesses and state government is not only a good thing but vital to a positive business climate.

Connecticut companies want to comply with every pertinent state regulation governing their business operations, but finding and knowing those standards is often difficult.

Under SB-29, the Department of Consumer Protection would publish a Web site housing a complete list of effective regulations that have been adopted by all state agencies and published by the Commission on Official Legal Publications.

CBIA supports the bill because it will make it easier and more efficient for regulations to be found and known by businesses.
