Workforce development and
education programs in SB-702:

• A program to repay student loans for engineers and eligible people in certain doctoral programs.
• A high school Math and Science Challenge pilot program using math and science results from the 10th-grade mastery test to design and implement math and science curricula for 11th-grade students.
• A “Generation Next” pilot program to connect business-sponsored job shadowing and high school students and provide externship opportunities to public school teachers.
• A “Future Scholars” program to provide supplemental math and science instruction to students in grades 8 through 10 who scored above the basic but below the proficient level on the mastery test during the previous year.
