Host a candidate visit at your company
(Aug. 22, 2008) Electing more pro-jobs candidates to the Connecticut legislature on Tuesday, Nov. 4, should be a top priority for anyone concerned about the state’s economy and future.
This fall, employers can play a vital role in the state elections. Here’s what you can do, and how CBIA will help:
Host a candidate visit — Candidates for the state legislature will visit companies throughout the state during the week of Oct. 20-24 (“Business Meets Politics Week 2008”). This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your products, services and impact on the community, and express how lawmakers can help businesses like yours compete and succeed in a tough economy. It’s also a chance for your employees to meet candidates they may be voting for. To arrange a visit, contact CBIA’s Liz Krueger at 860-244-1169, or elizabeth.krueger@cbia.com.
Hold a voter registration drive — Help make sure your employees are registered to vote on Nov. 4. Host an onsite voter registration drive — for new voters and for anyone who may have moved since the last election. To set up a drive, contact CBIA’s Adam Ney at 860-244-1933 or adam.ney@cbia.com.
For more information on how to get involved, contact CBIA’s Public Affairs Department at 860-244-1900.
