Get involved!

You can get involved by participating on a CBIA membership council that has the eyes and ears of state government. They are the perfect platforms from which to discuss today's biggest issues and promote the concerns of Connecticut's business community.

For information on how to join, contact CBIA's Adam Ney by e-mail or 860-244-1900.

Legislative Breakfast Meetings

An easy and great way to help your state legislators understand your business better is by hosting a Legislative Breakfast Meeting in your plant or offices. Every year, CBIA arranges dozens of these informal meetings across the state, many of them in manufacturing companies.

Your role
All you need to do is provide a meeting space for 10-15 people, and coffee and donuts or bagels, and we’ll do the rest - including inviting your area legislators and other business leaders in your area.

We are setting up the 2008 schedule, so please contact Elizabeth Krueger (860-244-1900) for more information and to get started.

How to contact your legislators

When phoning, e-mailing or faxing a state legislator about an important issue, you should:

Identify the issue that concerns you and, if appropriate, the name and number of a specific bill. You can get this information by using our Web site on the Government Issues and Politics main page. Or, you can call CBIA's Public Affairs Department at 860-244-1900.

Phone numbers and e-mail addresses for specific legislators can be obtained through our "Find your legislators" data base.

Fax numbers for the four legislative caucuses are:

House Democrats 860-240-0206
House Republicans 860-240-0207
Senate Democrats 860-240-0208
Senate Republicans 860-240-8306
