CT salaries 1997 – to present

Over the past decade CBIA has frequently surveyed its members about the salaries, they pay their employees. This data is published in our annual Compensation Report, and presented according to job family.

     The following charts reflect this data and show how salaries have progressed since 1997 in the respective job families. The figures reflect base salaries only. As a point of comparison, three figures are provided:

  • the weighted average: shows the overall weighted average salary for a representative sample of the jobs in a particular family. For consistency, every effort is made to use the same set of job titles for each year;
  • The second figure is the weighted average for the mid-50 th percentile;
  • both the average of the 50th percentile and the overall average are tracked against the Consumer Price Index (CPI) so as to give an indication as to how the salaries have tracked against the cost of living.

     CBIA is currently administering the 2007 Compensation Survey and the charts will be adjusted accordingly upon completion of the survey. For more information from the previous salary surveys or to participate in the current survey (and get a free copy of the final report), please contact Phillip Montgomery 860-244-1982 or via e-mail to montgomp@cbia.com. Participants in the survey will receive a free report of the base salaries and bonuses received by Connecticut employees in more than 200 positions.
