Q: May employees change plans from one suite to another suite?
A: Employees may only choose the plans available in the suite their employer is offering.
Q: Are there any pre-existing conditions limitations or are there any waiting periods?
A: There are no pre-existing conditions limitations or waiting periods. However, an employer and employee must meet the eligibility requirements for the program.
Q: Will the existing six plans offered today continue to be offered?
A: The Passive PPO 1000 plan is the only existing plan that will be available as a stand alone choice on renewal and for new business. All other existing plans are only available on renewal if the employer chooses to remain in the same plan. They are not available to new business or through conversions.
Q: Are employers currently enrolled in dental insurance through CBIA Health Connections required to move into a suite at renewal?
A: No. Employers may remain in their current plan upon renewal. However, if you decide to make a plan change, you must choose one of the new suite offerings or the stand alone Passive PPO 1000 plan.
Q: Is this the same as Aetna’s Freedom of Choice where employees may switch plans throughout the year?
A: This in not Aetna’s Freedom of Choice but a new program exclusive to CBIA. Employees may not switch plans throughout the year but may switch plans at open enrollment.
Q: Are employers allowed to switch their suite offering?
A: Yes. Employers may switch their suite offering upon annual renewal.
Q: What suites are available for employers without prior dental coverage?
A: Only Suite 1 is available for the first 12 months. The employer may choose Suite 2 or Suite 3 upon their annual renewal based on eligibility.
