CBIA/Aetna Agent Certification & Licensing Requirements

Licensing/Appointment:

According to Connecticut law, a producer's authority to act as an agent for any particular carrier may not be activated until the carrier’s Application for Appointment of the producer as its agent has been approved by the Department of Insurance. It is unlawful for a producer to solicit business prior to completion of the agent appointment process.

If you are a CBIA/Aetna producer, you must be a licensed Connecticut producer and be appointed with all three of the following Aetna companies (regardless of which plan(s) your clients select):
