Agent Certification & Licensing Requirements

Licensing/Appointment:

According to Connecticut law, a producer's authority to act as an agent for any particular carrier may not be activated until the carrier's Application for Appointment of the producer as its agent has been approved by the Department of Insurance. It is unlawful for a producer to solicit business prior to completion of the agent appointment process.

If you are a CBIA Health Connections producer, you must be a licensed Connecticut producer and be appointed with all affiliated health plan companies - Aetna, CIGNA HealthCare, ConnectiCare, Health Net, Oxford Health Plans, Hartford Life Insurance Co., and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (regardless of which plan(s) your clients select).

Certification:

In addition to state licensing and appointment requirements, CBIA Health Connections also requires its agents to attend an introductory meeting/seminar to become "certified" to market the product.
