CBIA's Health Savings Account Progam

If your clients are covered by one of our HSA compatible health plans, then a tax-advantaged Health Savings Account may be for them. Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) help pay for medical care and allow the insured to build up savings to pay for future medical expenses.

CBIA HSAs are comprised of two parts, a choice of four HSA compatible health plans and the tax advantaged Health Savings Account vehicle.

 

 

2009 Maximum Contribution Levels for Health Savings Accounts.  
The Treasury Dept. and IRS have recently issued new guidance for 2009 on the minimum and maximum contribution levels for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and out-of-pocket spending limits for high deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) that must be used in conjunction with HSAs. These amounts have been indexed for cost-of-living adjustments for 2009.

Catch up contribution for individual who are 55 or older is increased by statute to $1,000 for 2009. Both the HSA contribution and catch up contribution apply pro rate based on the number of months of the year a taxpayer is an eligible individual.
