Building A Bridge From Your Organization to A Fully Sustainability World
Session Leaders: Peter Larson, AIA, LEED AP, Principal, Ashley McGraw Architects and Edward McGraw, AIA, LEED AP, CEO, Ashley McGraw
Sustainability is a vast spectrum, stretching from what we know as “being green” (recycling, eating local, etc.) to creating a new harmony between our built and natural worlds. While that harmony is yet unrealized, it is entirely possible.
Today, organizations recycle office materials, turn off computers at night or implement ride share programs to do their part. These initiatives are important but are just the tip of the iceberg. What would happen if organizations could imagine and develop a fully sustainable world where they were an integral part of how it operates?
In this workshop, leading architect Peter Larson (AIA, LEED AP) will help business leaders connect the dots from the largest view of sustainability to the world in which they live and conduct business. Through group interaction, participants will identify how their current efforts fall into the larger worldview and then explore opportunities to carve out a business niche or differentiator to create a new future for their organization.
This workshop is a rare chance to see Peter’s theories of Blue Design (www.peterlarson.org) put into action. Participants will find the workshop energizing and enlightening, with each person taking away ideas on what sustainability can mean to their organization and the world at-large.
