 InternHere.com is a new Web site where college students can find the best internship opportunities in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts -- and employers can find the most qualified interns. Through the generosity of sponsors (including CBIA), this is a free service for students, businesses and college career professionals.

The Graduate Retention Task Force of the Hartford/Springfield Economic Partnership,
participating Connecticut and Western Massachusetts colleges, the CT Office of Workforce
Competitiveness, have produced a new Web site: InternHere.com
The purpose of this innovative new site is to link college students from the region with
internships and cooperative education opportunities with businesses and nonprofit employers.
Organizations seeking to take advantage of this cost-effective way of developing a pool of
potential career employees are encouraged to post their opportunities now for a Spring roll-out of
the website to students as they start their new semester.
With more than 235,000 college students in the region, managers of businesses, nonprofit institutions,
and government agencies will be able to view the potential pool of students as a strong source of
economic strength. InternHere.com will provide them with a high-tech link to encourage
students to stay in the area by providing internships and co-op opportunities that may lead to
eventual careers. Recent studies have pointed out that over 50 % of those students who complete
successful internships in the area choose to remain within the region. The site will market the
advantages of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts to young people as a place that is exciting
to work, to live, and to play.
InternHere.com will bring employers, students and college career services administrators
together in a mutual effort to recruit and retain the best students for our workforce. Managers
will have easy access to the system and unlimited free postings, a searchable database of current
student resumes, and the ability to display their own employer profile page with links to their
homepage. Students will have access to employers within the region, local events, and internship
opportunities. College career services administrators will be provided with ready access to
