CLIMATE CHANGE: FROM SCIENCE TO POLICY
Uncovering the facts about global warming and forecasting its impact on Connecticut businesses

Former Vice President Al Gore and others have been raising concerns about the issue of global warming. But what are the facts about climate change and the impact of human activity on global warming?

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) has gathered some of the top experts in the field to discuss the science of climate change and the choices facing public-policy makers, for CBIA's 9th Annual Environmental Policies Council Meeting and Outing, Fri., Oct. 26 at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield.

Keynote speakers are Dr. Robert Mendelsohn of the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University and Dr. Anji Seth, from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut. They will discuss the causes and impacts of climate change on society and what changes we can expect in the future.

A panel of state leaders will discuss how climate science will shape state policies in the years to come. Panelists include:

•  Gina McCarthy, commissioner, Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection

•  Anne George, commissioner, Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control

•  State Rep. Richard Roy, (D- Milford) chairman, Environmental Committee, Connecticut General Assembly

•  State Rep. Clark Chapin, (R- New Milford) ranking member, Environmental Committee, Connecticut General Assembly
