HARTFORD ATTORNEY JOINS CBIA'S GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS TEAM
The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) hired Hartford attorney, Jesmin K. Basanti, for the association's government affairs team. CBIA, the state's largest business organization with over 10,000 members, works to promote a healthy business climate, which encourages economic growth and job creation in the state.
"We are pleased to welcome Jesmin to the CBIA government affairs team, where she will work to promote a state business climate that is globally competitive and encourages business expansion and job growth in Connecticut,” said John R. Rathgeber, CBIA president and CEO.
Basanti, a staff attorney, will represent business views before the Connecticut legislature and administrative agencies. She will primarily focus on education, commerce and economic development issues facing the state's business community.
Prior to joining CBIA, Basanti worked at several Connecticut and Massachusetts area law firms. She earned her J.D. degree from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Mass., and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Basanti is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Connecticut South Asian Bar Association. She lives in Hartford.
