BUSINESS COMMUNITY JOINS GOVERNOR'S ONETHING CAMPAIGN
Governor invited to address business leaders at energy conference
The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) and the Connecticut Power & Energy Society (CPES) have teamed up with the Governor's OneThing Campaign to present the annual “What's the Deal?” Business Energy Conference in collaboration with the Governor's OneThing Expo.

Governor M. Jodi Rell has been invited to kick off the business energy conference at 8:30 a.m.
The event will feature more than 40 exhibitors and a series of panel discussions and keynote speaker presentations from some of the most well-known energy and business experts in the region. These industry experts will discuss the latest developments in alternative energy and conservation, competitive market opportunities, and what new financial incentives the federal and state governments are offering to help businesses control their costs and conserve energy.

Donald W. Downes, chairman, Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control
Wendell Cox, international public policy consultant and principal, Wendell Cox Consultancy and consultant for the American Petroleum Institute
Peter Kent, chairman and CEO, Bicron Electronics Co.
Don Droppo Jr., senior vice president, sales and marketing, Curtis Packaging Corp.
Connecticut businesses that have made outstanding commitments to energy conservation will be honored by the State of Connecticut for their environmental stewardship.
Attendees are welcome to bring old compact fluorescent lights and batteries for recycling by Next Level for Recycling (NLR).
The cost to attend the program is $99 for government officials, $150 for CBIA and CPES members, and $250 for nonmembers. The fee includes breakfast, lunch, parking, and admission to the OneThing Expo for the entire weekend.
