STORMWATER MANAGEMENT AND ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
CBIA'S Environmental Policies Council Conference and Tour

Fri., Oct. 24, 2008
8 – 12:30 p.m.
Maneeley's Banquet Facility & UTC Power
South Windsor, Conn.

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) has gathered some of the top experts in the field of green technology to discuss environmentally friendly solutions to two major issues affecting the state's manufacturers — energy and stormwater management. Speakers will address attendees at CBIA's 10th Annual Environmental Policies Council Meeting, Fri., Oct. 24, in South Windsor.

The program begins with a presentation and discussion with officials from the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and UTC Power, at Maneeley's Banquet Facility, 65 Rye Street in South Windsor. Officials from DEP will address possible changes to requirements for managing industrial stormwater discharges that would increase business costs and regulatory burdens. UTC Power will showcase new, affordable technologies that could reduce business dependence on Connecticut 's volatile energy market and save money.

At 10:15 attendees will receive a guided tour of UTC Power's fuel cell manufacturing and stormwater management systems, for a firsthand look at the latest innovations being used in the industry. UTC Power is located at 195 Governors Highway in South Windsor.

The conference is $35 for EPC members, $45 for other CBIA members and government officials, and $55 for all others.

To register, call the CBIA registrar at 860-244-1977 or send an e-mail to registrar@cbia.com.

The meeting is sponsored by CBIA, Fuss & O'Neill and Day Pitney.

CBIA is Connecticut's largest business organization, with 10,000 members.
