CBIA ATTORNEY ELECTED TO CPES BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Connecticut Power & Energy Society (CPES) elected Kevin Hennessy to its board of directors at its Feb. 5, 2008, meeting.

Hennessy is a staff attorney and member of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association's (CBIA) government affairs team. He represents the business community's views before the state legislature and administrative agencies, including the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control. His areas of expertise include energy and technology, business law and liability issues, as well as corporate governance.

CPES is a member-supported, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that promotes a greater public understanding of the benefits of cogeneration, small power production and alternative energy technologies. Its mission is generating information, sharing ideas and educating the public on energy issues.

“We are excited to have Kevin join our board and continue our long-standing relationship with CBIA in our efforts to provide energy information to Connecticut consumers,” said Jennifer Janelle, president of CPES.

Prior to joining CBIA in 2006, Hennessy worked at several Connecticut and New York area law firms. He earned his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Mass., and a B.A. in political science from Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.

Hennessy serves on the Connecticut Energy Conservation Management Board (ECMB) and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Hartford County Bar Association.

He lives in West Hartford with his wife, Elizabeth.
