The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA)/Blum Shapiro 2008 Survey of Connecticut Businesses will be released at a 9:30 a.m. news conference on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at CBIA's economic conference, “The Connecticut Economy,” at the Rocky Hill Marriott.
This annual survey of Connecticut businesses identifies trends, issues and challenges facing the business community. Some of this year's findings concern:
Economic conditions and barriers facing today's businesses
Effects of rising energy prices
Energy conservation measures
Reducing health care costs
Adapting and changing to meet economic challenges
Peter Gioia, CBIA vice president and economist, and Jay Satler, CPA, partner, Blum Shapiro, will discuss the results of this year's survey. They will identify critical business issues and how they affect our state's economic growth and competitiveness.
