NEW REGULATIONS FOR CONNECTICUT MANUFACTURERS AND EXPORTERS
CBIA workshop explores REACH – Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of CHemical substances, and how it affects Connecticut businesses

Thousands of Connecticut manufacturers are exporters or part of the supply chain to companies that export goods and services to the European Union (EU). All of these companies need to know about new European chemicals legislation, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restrictions of CHemicals), an effort by the EU to remove toxic chemicals from the supply chain through industry compliance.
All exporters and their supply chain providers will be required to register as REACH compliant by December 1, 2008. Companies not in compliance will be prohibited from exporting to the EU.
