CONNECTICUT BUSINESSES LEARN HOW TO ACCESS FEDERAL STIMULUS FUNDING FOR ENERGY PROJECTS AT CBIA/CPES ENERGY CONFERENCE

The U.S. economic stimulus package includes more than $71 billion in investments for energy and the environment, along with $20 billion in green tax incentives. Connecticut’s businesses executives will learn how to access some of these energy funds to help reduce and control their energy costs, at the tenth annual “What’s the Deal” – business energy conference. The conference and exposition is hosted by the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) and the Connecticut Power and Energy Society (CPES).

Wed., Oct. 14, 2009

8:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Crowne Plaza Hotel, Cromwell

The luncheon keynote speaker is Gina McCarthy, assistant administrator of the Office of Air and Radiation at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Prior to her work for the Obama administration, McCarthy served as commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. CBIA and CPES have also assembled some of the top experts in the region to examine the changes taking place in Connecticut’s energy markets and how they affect consumers’ utility bills. These energy experts will discuss how businesses can reduce their energy costs through innovative financing and new technologies. They will also focus on energy policy and infrastructure, the impact of climate change legislation and how to access federal stimulus funding for energy projects.
