As the country struggles through one of the worst economic crises in history, top business leaders and economists will gather to discuss the impact on Connecticut’s economy at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association’s Connecticut Economic Update.

The conference will explore issues and challenges facing businesses across the state as we try to recover from this recession.
Keynote speaker Lynn Browne, executive vice president, regional outreach and communications, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, will discuss the current economic situation in Connecticut and the region as well as what to expect in the coming months.
Other speakers include:
- Peter Gioia, CBIA vice president and economist
- Delos Smith, senior economist, Security Executive Council
- Donald Klepper-Smith, economist, DataCore Partners, and chair of Governor Rell’s economic advisors panel
Topics include:
- A macroeconomic view of the U.S., Northeast and Connecticut economies
- The state’s fiscal crisis
- Zogby International Survey findings on the economy and state budget
- The tri-state economic connectivity and the opportunities it provides
