CBIA RELEASES SUSTAINABILITY SURVEY AT 3RD ANNUAL SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE

Explores environmental and social policies and challenges facing Connecticut businesses

CBIA will release results of its 2009 Sustainability and Connectivity Business Survey at the 3rd annual Sustainability Conference. The survey examined how businesses are adopting environmental and social responsibility, to what extent, and at what cost or benefit.

The program will help businesses understand how incorporating green business strategies into their operation, supply chain and corporate culture can help generate a more productive workforce and produce a higher return on investment. 

Keynote speaker Jay Whitehead, President/Publisher of Corporate Responsibility Officer (CRO) Magazine, will discuss how companies are harnessing green business practices to help their companies grow. 

Business executives from environmentally-friendly Connecticut companies recognized on CRO’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens 2009 list will speak about what their companies are doing in the area of corporate social responsibility, and the return on their investment. Speakers include:

  • Diane Herndon, director, corporate responsibility and sustainable yield, Monsanto
  • Laura Bradford, associate director, corporate EHS strategies and outreach, Bristol Myers Squibb
  • Kevin Hamilton, vice president, tri-state operations, Xerox
  • Jim Bollenbacher, director, environmental, health and safety, Alcoa Power and Propulsion

The conference, sponsored by CBIA, Mohawk Fine Papers and theConnecticut Clean Energy Fund, is $50 for members and $60 for nonmembers.

CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 members.
