Kevin R. Hennessy is a staff attorney for the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), the state's largest business organization with over 10,000 members. CBIA works to promote a healthy business climate, which encourages economic growth and job creation in the state.
Hennessy is a member of the association's government affairs team, representing the business community's views before the state legislature and administrative agencies, including the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control. His areas of expertise include energy and technology, business law and liability issues, as well as corporate governance.
Hennessy serves on the Energy Conservation Management Board (ECMB), the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) board of directors and the Connecticut Power & Energy Society (CPES) board of directors. He was also appointed to the Bench-Bar Centralized Small Claims Committee.
Prior to joining CBIA, Hennessy worked at several Connecticut and New York area law firms. He earned his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Mass., and a B.A. in political science from Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
Hennessy is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Hartford County Bar Association.
He lives in West Hartford with his wife, Elizabeth, and son, Thomas.
