Joseph F. Brennan

Joseph F. Brennan serves as senior vice president of public policy for the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), the state’s largest business organization with approximately 10,000 member companies.

Brennan manages CBIA’s overall public policy operations including its legislative, regulatory, communications, research and public affairs activities. He oversees the Association’s representation at the State Capitol on issues such as state fiscal policy, labor and employment law, health policy, environmental law, energy policy, transportation and education and training.

Brennan has served on several legislative task forces on state and local tax policy, including the Blue Ribbon Commission on Property Tax Burdens and Smart Growth Incentives. He also serves on numerous boards and councils.

Prior to joining CBIA as a staff attorney in 1988, Brennan was in a private law practice in Manchester, CT. He received his Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law in Boston, MA, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He has also served as assistant counsel, counsel and vice president for CBIA.

Brennan and his wife and two daughters live in Manchester, CT.
