CBIA PROMOTES STAFF MEMBER Mark Soycher Named Counsel and Director of Human Resources Services
The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) today announced
the promotion of Mark Soycher to counsel and director of human resources
Soycher returned to the state’s largest business organization in July 2002 as labor and employment counsel for the association’s Human Resources Services Department, which has experienced growth to almost 14,000 personnel-related inquires annually from member companies.
“This promotion is in recognition of Mark’s numerous contributions and dedication to providing important workplace information to CBIA member companies,” said Kenneth O. Decko, CBIA president and CEO. “We are confident that as the head of Human Resources Services, Mark will lead his staff in developing new programs while continuing to provide the excellent quality service that our members need in order to comply with the wide range of Connecticut workplace laws and regulations.”
For the past 12 years, Soycher has been in private law practice. From 1983 to 1990, he served as counsel at CBIA, providing members with advice on labor and employment issues. Before that, Soycher was a general counsel for the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut, a construction industry trade association.
Soycher holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University, a master’s in special education from William Paterson College, and a law degree from New York Law School. He is a member of the Connecticut and American bar associations, and he serves on the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association's labor and employment law section.
He and his family live in Simsbury.
