ALINABAL PRESIDENT AND CEO ELECTED TO CBIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Bergami is president and CEO of Alinabal Holdings Corp., in Milford. He is one of 16 new members elected to the CBIA board who will begin their terms Dec. 1. CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs. Bergami began his career at Alinabal in 1966 as a tool and die apprentice. He held many positions over the years, and in 1992 became president, CEO and co-owner of Alinabal Holdings Corp. Alinabal Holidings Corp., is the parent company of Alinabal Inc., (which consists of two strategic business units - the Motion Transfer Device Group and the Engineered Products Group), Practical Automation Inc., Daco Instrument Company and Sterling Screw Machine Company. In 1976, Bergami founded Saber Electrical Supply in Milford and held ownership in that company until 1994. In 1985, he founded Milford Electrical Contractors, which is operated by his partner and son, Samuel Bergami III. Over the past 30 years, Bergami has been involved in numerous community organizations and activities. Presently, Bergami is a trustee of the Milford Bank, on the board of directors of the University of New Haven, and a director and treasurer of Milford Hospital. Bergami has received many awards for his contributions to business and the community. In 1993, he was named “Businessperson of the Year” by the Milford Chamber of Commerce, and in 1996, he was honored by the Connecticut Small Business Administration with the “Small Businessperson of the Year” award. In 1998, Success Magazine ranked Bergami and Alinabal Holdings Corp. 48th out of 100 top entrepreneurial organizations in the country. He earned an executive M.B.A. degree from the University of New Haven. In 2001, he was awarded a Ph.D. in business (honorarius) by the University of New Haven. Bergami and his wife, Lois, have been married for 39 years and have three children and five grandchildren. They live in Milford. ###
