PULLMAN & COMLEY CHAIRMAN ELECTED TO CBIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS


The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) elected D. Robert Morris to a four-year term on its board of directors at its Oct. 27 Annual Meeting.

Morris is chairman of Pullman & Comley LLC, in Bridgeport, and heads the tax section of the firm’s Business Enterprises Department. He is one of 16 new members elected to the CBIA board who will begin their terms Dec. 1.

CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs.

Morris has broad experience in federal and state tax planning and tax litigation matters, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and partnership law, private securities offerings, and estate planning. In these areas, his practice involves representation of closely held corporations, financial institutions, individuals, trusts and estates.

He is a member of the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Tax Section, a member of the American Bar Association Tax Section and a member of the Florida Bar Association Tax Section. He is active in various other professional organizations and is a speaker on issues involving his areas of practice.

Morris received his B.A. degree from Cornell University, his J.D. degree from Cornell Law School and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University. He lives in Fairfield.
