SIEMON PRESIDENT ELECTED TO CBIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Siemon is president of The Siemon Company, in Watertown. He is one of 16 new members elected to the CBIA board who will begin their terms Dec. 1. CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs. In 1974, Siemon began working for The Siemon Company full time at the Siemon-Madison Division in Madison, Georgia, as a purchasing agent and sales representative. In 1976, he moved to the corporate headquarters in Watertown, Conn., and assumed company-wide responsibility for sales and marketing. He founded the Siemon Electronics Division in 1979. He was elected president of The Siemon Company in 1982, and has led the company through two decades of unprecedented growth and global expansion. In 2002, Siemon was selected by the Connecticut District Export Council and the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development as winner of the "Connecticut Exporter of the Year" award. In 2003, The Siemon Company received the "Connecticut Family Business of the Year" award presented by the University of Connecticut Family Business program. Siemon graduated from Yale University in 1974. He lives in Woodbury, with his wife, Beth, and their three children.
