The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) elected Jack E. Volinski to a four-year term on its board of directors at its Oct. 27 Annual Meeting. Volinski is president of HSB Global Standards, in Hartford. He is one of 16 new members elected to the CBIA board who will begin their terms Dec. 1. CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs. Prior to his current role at HSB Global Standards, Volinski was senior controller of engineering services at the company’s parent, The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co. He has also served as vice president of finance at S&S Worldwide, in Colchester, and at the Andersen Group Inc., and its subsidiary, The J.M. Ney Co., in Bloomfield. He was controller for Securitylink Corp., in Orange, and an audit manager and senior accountant at Coopers & Lybrand, in Hartford. Volinski earned his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut and is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. He resides in Avon.
