TOP ECONOMISTS TO GATHER FOR CBIA CONFERENCE
The Connecticut Economy - Will Recovery Last?

Connecticut's economy is slowly recovering from a two-year economic downturn, but will the recovery last? Top business leaders and economic experts will discuss where the economy is headed, the trends and challenges that will shape its future, and how they will affect Connecticut businesses, at CBIA's conference “The Connecticut Economy – Will Recovery Last?” at The Rocky Hill Marriott on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004.

A news conference will be held at 10 a.m. to announce the results of the CBIA/Blum Shapiro Survey of Connecticut Businesses. This annual survey identifies trends and issues facing Connecticut businesses. Complete survey results will be distributed at the news conference.

The conference keynote speakers are:

  • Ron McKenna, president, Hamilton Sundstrand, Windsor Locks, and
  • Kathleen B. Cooper, under secretary for economic affairs, U.S. Department of Commerce.

Other speakers include:

  • John Kirschner, CPA, partner, manufacturing group, Blum Shapiro;

  • Joseph Bronzino, president and executive director, BEACON;
  • Steve Harrington, president, Industrial Air Supply;
  • Marcel “Gus” Gamache, president and CEO, ConnectiCare Inc.; and
