CBIA/BLUM SHAPIRO SURVEY OF CONNECTICUT BUSINESSES TO BE RELEASED AT NEWS CONFERENCE

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association/Blum Shapiro Survey of Connecticut Businesses will be released at a 10 a.m. news conference on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at CBIA’s economic conference, “The Connecticut Economy - Will Recovery Last?” at the Rocky Hill Marriott.

This annual survey of Connecticut businesses identifies trends and issues facing the business community. Some of this year’s findings include:

  • Business profitability

  • Types of jobs in demand

  • Impact of global trade

Peter Gioia, CBIA economist; Carl Johnson, CPA, managing partner, Blum Shapiro, West Hartford; and John Kirschner, CPA, partner, manufacturing group, Blum Shapiro, West Hartford, will discuss the results of this year’s survey and explain how the report identifies critical issues important to businesses and how they impact our state’s economic growth.
