CBIA OFFERS DISASTER PLANNING TO PREPARE BUSINESSES FOR EMERGENCIES

In the wake of recent hurricanes, many Connecticut businesses are asking how Connecticut would fare if a natural disaster struck the state. The Connecticut Business & Industry Association is sponsoring a new program to explore the issue and help businesses prepare for emergencies.

Disaster Planning and Business Recovery
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005
8:30 -10:30 a.m.
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Cromwell

The program features keynote speaker Commissioner James M. Thomas, Connecticut Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. He will discuss the state’s preparedness and what the commission is doing to assist and train state businesses to handle emergencies.

The program will also cover these topics:

  • Why it’s important for businesses to be prepared and how they can start a disaster plan
  • Issues that must be considered prior to creating a disaster response and business resumption plan

The event is free for all CBIA members.

CBIA is Connecticut’s largest business organization, with 10,000 members.
