BUSINESSES TO LEARN HOW TO SAVE MONEY AND CONTROL THEIR RISING ENERGY NEEDS
High energy prices and possible fuel shortages are expected throughout the winter heating months, according to the latest estimates from the U.S. energy secretary. Businesses will learn how to help control their costs and conserve energy at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) and the Connecticut Power and Energy Society (CPES) Conference and Exposition: What’s the Deal? Wed. Nov. 16, 2005 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Crowne Plaza, Cromwell (formerly the Radisson Hotel) CBIA and CPES have assembled some of the top experts in the region to examine the changes taking place in Connecticut’s energy markets and how they affect consumers’ utility bills. Experts will discuss the shortages and disruptions caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and what businesses can do to save money and energy. U.S. Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.), is the keynote speaker for the conference. He will discuss the federal energy bill and how businesses in Connecticut can benefit from it. He will also discuss the latest in alternative energy and conservation efforts and what new financial incentives the federal and state governments are offering businesses this fall to combat rising energy prices.
