FORTUNE PLASTICS CHAIRMAN ELECTED TO CBIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) elected John P. Duhig to a four-year term on its board of directors at its Oct. 26 Annual Meeting. Duhig is chairman of Fortune Plastics Inc., a plastics manufacturer with six plants in the U.S., including one in Old Saybrook. He is one of 13 new members elected to the CBIA board who will begin their terms Dec. 1. CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs. Duhig joined Fortune Plastics in 1987 as president and was named chairman in 2004. Prior to Fortune he worked for Lawson Mardon Packaging (now Alcan) in the United Kingdom and Ireland, as CEO of various LMP divisions. In 1977 he went to Miami where he built a 7-plant flexible packaging group for the Lawson Mardon Group. He was educated in Ireland and has a B.S. in electrical engineering from University College in Dublin. Duhig is a member of the YWCA board of directors in Westbrook. He lives with his family in Old Saybrook. ###
