PCC TECHNOLOGY GROUP PRESIDENT AND CEO ELECTED TO CBIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) elected Jerry W. Long to a four-year term on its board of directors at its Oct. 26 Annual Meeting. Long is president and CEO of PCC Technology Group LLC, a computer consulting firm he founded in 1994, in Bloomfield. He is one of 13 new members elected to the CBIA board who will begin their terms Dec. 1. CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs. Prior to starting PCC Technology Group, Long was owner and founder of PC Consultants. He started his career with the General Electric Co. and also worked at Connecticut General Co. (later known as CIGNA) and The Hartford Insurance Group. Long is the chairman of the MetroHartford Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Asylum Hill Congregational Church, an advisory board member of the Institute for Industrial and Engineering Technology at Central Connecticut State University, treasurer of the Hartford Chapter of Black Data Processing Associates, a commissioner for the Bloomfield Economic Development Commission, a commissioner for the Bloomfield Charter Revision Committee, a member of Hartford’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Higher Education, and a director of the Hartford Education Foundation. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and the Rotary Club of Bloomfield. He is past president of the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce and a past board member of the Pastoral Counseling Center of West Hartford. PCC Technology Group is a 2001, 2002 and 2003 winner of the “Fast Fifty Award,” given by Deloitte & Touche, and the winner of the Business Development Grant given by Fleet Development Ventures. Long has a B.S. in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee. He is the father of three adult children and lives in Bloomfield with his wife, Marjorie. ###
