ELECTRIC RATES SET TO INCREASE IN 2007
Businesses learn how to save money and control rising energy needs

 

Market changes may force electricity rates to increase by as much as 50 percent for some Connecticut customers next year. Businesspeople can learn about the new electric pricing structure taking affect on Jan. 1, 2007, at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) and the Connecticut Power and Energy Society (CPES) Conference and Exposition: “What’s the Deal VII – Take Control of Your Energy Costs.”

CBIA and CPES have assembled some of the top experts in the region to examine the changes taking place in Connecticut’s energy markets and how they affect consumers’ utility bills. These industry experts will discuss the latest developments in alternative energy and conservation, competitive market opportunities and what new financial incentives the federal and state governments are offering businesses to help control their costs and conserve energy.

Executives from several Connecticut businesses that are saving thousands in energy costs by taking advantage of state programs will discuss the programs and technology that can help other businesses cut their energy needs and save money.

The exhibition will feature dozens of companies showcasing the latest products and services available to reduce energy costs.

The cost to attend the program is $99 for government officials, $125 for CBIA/CPES members and $165 for nonmembers.
